Auspicious Days
PMAA would like to send a heartfelt and hearty happy birthday to a special someone that is near and dear to our program, Former President, Jimmy Carter!
President Carter celebrated his 98th birthday on October 1st. As the oldest living President in U.S. history, his life is a testament to both public service and humanitarian leadership. As PMIs and PMFs we’re especially grateful for his many years of service, deep commitment to peace, personal fortitude, discerning intellect, and deep joy in serving others. After all, we’ve benefitted from his work directly.
A vital, professional, and active public service is a crucial part of democracy. President Carter’s efforts 45 years ago to turn a good idea into the government program that would become PMF fits squarely within a legacy of deep commitment to the United States and her people.
Just prior to his own auspicious day, President Carter sent PMAA a congratulatory letter extolling the virtues of the PMF program, and all its years of graduates, which will be celebrating its own milestone anniversary later this year.
Mr. President, we hope you enjoyed your day. And at PMAA we look forward to commemorating the 45th anniversary of the PMI/PMF later this year.
